Year 1. Fat Cat on a Mat

Fat Cat on a Mat”
by Phil Roxbee Cox and illustrated by Stephen Cartwright.

Fat Cat on a Mat is a easy story about a cat who has afraid of bees and elevations places like trees. The cat has to help a egg to hatch. She has some friends that appears during the story.

This story is short and it has short and repetitive sentences.

With this story we can work the rhymes of the words considering that all words are very similars on the sounds and very easy to recognise them.

We worked with more templates of Kidspiration as character analysis and other to work simple questions.

These are my actvities using ITC tools. With these activities we can work word level with the students.

Simple questions
For working the sentence level we have used the same tool but other parts. So these are my activities of sentence level.

And after this the students can be ready to produce their own texts.

The monk and the fish

"The monk and the fish"

This was our first story of the class. With this story we started to know the Kidspiration tool which we used with the rest of the stories.
This is a simple story that the children know through a video that it has not voice so they only can see the images and hear the music which it provides them a real environment.

To work this story we used the kidspiration, specifically we used the retell the story template. With it we can work word and sentence level and we did it. This template helps the children to understand much better the stories.
